Are the Celtics a BETTER TEAM than Last Year? | You Got Boston w/ Noa Dalzell

Celtics reporter Noa Dalzell breaks down Boston’s 2026-27 schedule in full — and makes the case that as brutal as it looks on paper, it ultimately won’t define this team’s season. Noa walks through the most grueling stretches, the back-to-backs that could wear down an already thin roster, and the road trips that will test depth in ways the Jaylen Brown era never had to. Then she zeroes in on the marquee moments: what should Celtics fans actually take away from Jaylen Brown’s return to Boston? How much will that game matter emotionally versus competitively? Noa puts it all in context, separating the schedule storylines worth tracking from the ones that are mostly noise. If you want a smart, clear-eyed breakdown of what the Celtics’ calendar actually means for their championship chances, this is the episode to start with.

  2. Great/spot on analysis on this pod/You got Boston as always.
Agree w/ the Eastern Conference being much tougher- leading to slight dip in wins.Only 3 cupcakes in the East really / a decent team will prob not make the play in.(think Wiz will be ok)
Great point on the Orl./Houston back to back.Kind of an odd one travel wise-at least first is afternoon/2nd night.
Also thought the home schedule the first 3 months was interesting to see..After the Knicks not many marquis teams until Detroit on Dec 20.The attendance and atmopshere in the building for those games could be a nice litmus test for where the fans stand in regards to the Franchise/Celts in general.(Especially w/ the Sox and Pats still going on.)

  3. It’s a better roster for sure. You can cancel out JB with JT (even if you think Tatum better). But there was no player of PG caliber last year. D white should be better. And having a true back up big in Mitch is going to be pivotal.

  4. 47 and 35. All those bench wings are not starter quality. Hugo the only one with potential. People are overrating all of them. Robinson and George are hobbles and I do not see any chance of 50 wins.

  5. Man, Pritchard an all star.. When we drafted him and he made his rookie game winner, I said he’s going to be our own version of Derrick fisher and I’ve been absolutely right. Expecting him to be like Jalen Brunson is just a disaster waiting to happen.

  6. Noa is absolutely gorgeous. Her eyes are so pretty , Is she single ? I’m curious. Because she is a Breath of fresh air , not to mention A great journalist ❤

  7. True they are better with everything you said but at the same time they could still have Jaylen Brown and a possible title to go along with those things. Flushing titles down the drain to silence a man with an opinion, pathetic. Boston has not changed

  8. I think the point of developing a good post team is developing your “depth” in the regular season. This will be year 2 or 3 for most of our depth that experience is what builds your muscle of how to play against formidable nba comp. They need to play their depth more often than not in the regular season. Pg Tatum pritch white Mitch will all be ready for playoffs, we need to add our role guys experience, young bench guys ideally develop into pivotal pieces in a playoff series based off experience gaining Iq in strategy. It’s not coaches IQ we need to worry about its the young role guys experience that matters most! My opinion play all the young guys as much as possible in tough games. I suspect Joe will do that

  9. With respect, people here are drinking a lot of green Kool-Aid. You don't trade away Jaylen Brown for nothing, and get better. If Jason proves he's back to himself and stays healthy, and the younger guys continue to get better, maybe the team is competitive. When all is said and done the ceiling is much lower (making the playoffs). I predict 44 wins, 49 if everything went perfectly but don't be surprised if this team falls out of the playoffs. I think we have entered a time of mediocrity for this team. Probably won't be bad but we're not competing for championships. I hope to be proven wrong.
