Orlando Magic Offseason Deep Dive with Dante Marchitelli: Vučević, Anthony Black & More
What does the Orlando Magic offseason really look like from the perspective of the man who will be calling their games?
In this episode of Orlando Magic Nation, Edwin Valentin sits down with Dante Marchitelli, the newly minted full-time TV play-by-play voice of the Orlando Magic, for an in-depth conversation about the team’s offseason, roster construction, and expectations heading into the 2026-27 NBA season.
Dante gives his perspective on Nikola Vučević’s return to Orlando, what the veteran center can bring to the Magic’s second unit, and why Vučević could be much more than a nostalgic reunion. We also discuss the departure of Mo Wagner, Orlando’s need for additional scoring off the bench, and how Sean Sweeney’s defensive system could help maximize the team’s new-look rotation.
The conversation also dives into one of the biggest storylines surrounding the Magic: Anthony Black’s development and potential rookie extension. What does AB need to improve in Year 4? How does his role change if he comes off the bench? And what could his next contract look like?
🏀 In this video, we discuss:

Why Vučević’s offensive ability, rebounding and passing could be crucial for Orlando’s bench

The new Orlando Magic television broadcast, including where Central Florida fans can watch games
Dante’s excitement about working alongside Jeff Turner and Kendra Douglas
We also talk about the bigger picture for the Orlando Magic, including the team’s decision to largely maintain continuity around Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs and Desmond Bane rather than making major offseason changes.
With a new head coach in Sean Sweeney, a healthy version of the Magic’s young core, and veterans like Vučević adding depth and experience, is Orlando positioned to take the next step in the Eastern Conference?

Dante Marchitelli gave us a LOT to talk about! What was your biggest takeaway from our conversation—Vučević's return, Anthony Black's future, Sean Sweeney's impact, or the Magic's decision to prioritize continuity? 🏀👇
JI is perfect next to Vuc. Hopefully like everyone he has gotten his body right. Healed up and lighter. I like the JI that can guard 1-5 switchable defense from the PF position and not trying to make him into a center. Vuc, Black, and TDS could support a solid backup squad… especially with Vuc being a consistent hub for the young guys to build around.
