In the 2000 NBA Finals, the Lakers’ 1-2 punch of Shaq and Kobe proved too much for Indiana to handle. Even after Kobe was injured following a hard foul by Jalen Rose, Los Angeles continued to put pressure on the Pacers and ultimately captured the franchise’s first championship since 1988.
