Could Nikola Jokic actually leave Denver and join the Toronto Raptors? 👀
Jokic has a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28, which could give him a chance to enter free agency next summer.
Toronto has an interesting connection too. Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic is Serbian and has coached Jokic with the Serbian national team.
The Raptors could also use exactly what Jokic brings — elite rebounding, playmaking and an all-time passing ability from the center position.
But there’s one huge catch: Jokic has indicated that his plan is to sign an extension and stay in Denver.
So right now, Jokic to Toronto is speculation, not a confirmed move.

No one knows whats going to happen intill happens. Just know the Raptors win if this is true.
Key would be the final piece that we need. What would we have to give up, though? He would be an important centerpiece. Reasonably sure we'd make it to the Finals with him added to the mix. That would be rings for everyone.
Unless Toronto can somehow include winning thoroughbred race horses in the trade, Jokic is not coming to Canada. IMHO, he is the best player on the planet: high BBIQ, low maintenance and gives you everything you could ever want in a player other than elite defence. I would love to see him in a Raptors jersey playing alongside Scottie, who does everything the Joker does to a lesser degree except he's an elite defender. Only problem is…you would have to gut your team and give up so much draft capital to get a Jokic level player that it might not make sense.
