  3. Silver got Kawhi to admit signing for the money. For that, 700k fine. If we lived in an insular basketball universe, that would be the end of it. But real crimes were carried out by leonard, the owners, and these 3rd party companies. The SEC and every relevant agency will be all over this. Leonard confessed, he's not going to be in the NBA, he will be in prison. Silvers slap on the wrist was just to prepare those wrists for cuffs.

  8. The more time passes since the report announcement and this deal isn't finalized yet, the more I wonder if someone didn't change their mind. We might be putting the horse before the cart here. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Balmer decided to keep Kawhi as a giant FU to Kawhi and to the league.

  9. Leonard has made more than 1/3 of a BILLION dollars and gets fined $700K, the equivalent of a ~one games pay for him. NOBODY gets $10M/year for years and doesn't ask "Why am I getting this huge dump truck of money dropped into my driveway EVERY YEAR when all I have to do is NOTHING." What you do ask is how can I get more of these no-perform contracts? I don't see how Leonard could not have known about this. Getting $10M/year with four no-perform contracts is better than what LeBron gets, how could Leonard not dig in?

    That makes Leonard the VILLIAN.

    It's hard to think how the Raptors FO and ownership haven't thoroughly thought through this, paid their own investigators and law firms to understand this. Leonard is involved in severely unsportsmanlike conduct. How can the FO, owners and fans be okay with having a player group (players have TEAMS of people advising them, especially when the player makes a third of a billion dollars) who was involved in such conduct? The franchise is worth billions and this taints it now and into the future. Right now it's clear the deal isn't final, Final FINAL, which means the Raptors could find a way to back out. That they are still pursuing Leonard shows they're okay with having having someone so unsportsmanlike on the team. Points over ethics. How can the owners, FO and fans hold their head high with a decision like that? What do they tell their kids?

    What fans want to root for a villain? How often will/should Leonard be booed or have "Uncle Dennis" shouted at him at games?

    Every partial/full season ticket holder should be offered a way out of the tickets by the team.

  19. I don't have my hopes up. The first time we had him we had 2 shooting 7-footers, FVV at point and Norm, Danny, Siakam and Anunoby knocking 3s down. We were deep and everyone could shoot 3s
