  1. I said it a while ago but this should be the season Draymond comes off the bench. He’s a playoff player at this point and last year’s play-in proved that. Preserve him and Steph by playing and trusting the young guys more. Let Richard, Santos, and Yaxel carry the team to April so that the vets can actually be healthy when it matters. Over taxing is what lead to Jimmy Butler tearing his knee and Steph compromising his. Don’t let it happen to Draymond—start Yaxel in his place and let Gui Stanos shine as the starting small forward and Will Richard as the more reliable starting SG.

  2. Bro I BEEN saying this. "Stand at the hash … OFF ball. Set an off ball screen for him. Hell, do that shit near half court. I guarantee they dont take their eyes off him. It should almost look like a gimmick

  3. Mailbag: What do we think the forward rotation will look like? Is Yaxel a 3 or 4? What does Jimmy’s return mean for Yaxel, Gui and Niang? What about when Moody returns for the 2 spot? Someone won’t get minutes this season at those positions because we’re 3-4 deep.

  4. As always, thanks Alc. Saw a video of Charles Bassey working out and shooting the three, have you looked at his shot, how big would it be if he also could stretch the floor? I am always overly optimistic before the season starts, that being said I believe the Warriors will be significantly better than last year. Continuity, a healthy and settled Al and KP to begin the season, growth of the young fellas and of course Yaxel! And if Lajae can pop, that would be big positive, on the court he is very determined, strong and looks to be a quiet dog a la Klay. Anyhow, again, relentlessly and overly optimistic and looking forward to the new season.

  5. Also this whole season will boil down to Jimmy's health, KP's durability, and Steph staying healthy at the end of the season. If they go into the postseason healthy, this team is DANGEROUS. Will they be healthy? Thats the question.

  6. Hey Alch, been a sub here and on Patreon (Shawn Med) for a bit and really enjoy your Dubs and Valkyrie coverage 🙏🙌

My mailbag question is do you think Yax will get enough opportunity to play and compete properly against the other lottery picks like Boozer and AJ to where he’s legit in ROTY talks? I know there’ll be moments when Kerr pulls him and holds him back a bit, but with what we’ve seen from him so far with his ability and competitiveness to go head to head and prove himself against other rookies and match up with them like he did Boozer in SL, I think he could show out well and prove himself better than a lot of those who went ahead of him in the draft.

Side note: Really do see potential in Lajae, would love him to get that third two way as long as he gets the last Exhibit 10 the Warriors have available after Toohey. And also, even though it’s hella early, would interested in your thoughts on Montiejus Krivas, Arizona C at 7’2” and former teammates with Brayden Burries going into his senior year.

  7. They need to bring rookie Devion. To me the only one close to Steph to do that role. He’s a rookie, but what I saw he’s very mature, high IQ level, lot of concentration in the game.

  8. 12:25 the obvious thing to do is to stick to the system even with second unit, just because they need to be used to it for when they play some minutes with Steph. Or if they replace injured starters.

  9. Cryer's calm in traffic around the rim! makes good decisions similar to Santos 🦾hope he gets a spot and minutes! crowded at point guard now?? heard they brought N AlexToohey!🦾 hope they,re able to keep Melevy! his hustle, instincts, availability, Vertical show,d good handles in summer league! Yaxel won't be getting much help from Drey' beside him 🤕.. teams 🗑️ with no Legit PF. MIXING it up inside! play Green SG. Melevy, Yaxel, Pozingus, Green & Curry! Green gets the nod regardless of results!🙄.. otherwise Pods or Butler🦾..

  10. I watched all the summer league, and LaJae looks to me like one of the players who will really benefit from half a season of close Warriors coaching, in the G League or the bench, and looks to improve a lot by the end of the year. My wife comps Bobby Portis: active, aggressive, crowd favorite, and (IMO) better in small doses than as a starter.
Yaxel really is all that. There were two of our players always moving at a different speed than anyone else on court – Will Richard, who you expect it of, and Yaxel. I think we're going to be better than people think, as long as Steph remains healthy enough to be the axle on which everything else balances.

  11. Q1: play Steph 20-25 minutes a game. Think of the first playoff series in 2022 when he came off the bench because he was recovering from injury.

Q2: Yes. Yaxel is strong enough to guard a 5 and quick enough to guard a 3

Q3: I like Melton playing with Curry 20 minutes a game. I like Richard playing with the younger guys including Williams, Yaxel, Gui, and Bassey.

Q4: I agree that Kerr needs to solidify the lineups right away. To me that’s the bigger issue than how much pick and roll they run.

  12. If Jason kid is on the coaching staff, Brandon Williams will succeed. This will allow Draymond and Steph to take a break at the same time.
Yakel needs to play at least 30 minutes game, until Jimmy Butler gets back. Then we can see what condition Jimmy is in. Like our chances with all our bags. And if Podz & GUI improves, we can make some noise.
We should at least avoid the plan believe 55 wins can do that for us..
