What grade would you give the Nets for their offseason? What did you like or not like about their moves?
I give Sean a B-. They definitely upgraded the roster. IMO 13 of the 18 roster spots will be better this year than lat year. They brought in some vets who will continue the education of their roster, which is still one of the youngest in the league. They did all that without taking on any bad long-term contracts or trading away any of their multitude of future picks. They have cap space so they can be a player at the trade deadline. MPJ could be worth a future 1st to a team chasing a ring.
I don't see how you can say the Randle deal was bad for the Nets. Randle will be a better player than Claxton will this coming year. He brings a toughness that Claxton lacks that will help the attitude of some of our young players. We also moved up from pick #33 to pick #28, so as far as I'm concerned we won both parts of the trade. The fact that Minnesota got other teams involved and ultimately may have done better is irrelevant to whether it's a good deal for the Nets. We lost a player who had reached his ceiling and got Randle and Josh Jefferson. A-.

Sean Marks is just terrible. And Eric is falling for another one of his okey-doke. The Nets had zero reason to punt on a season zero reason. And if they trade MPJ for simply assets rather than bringing another player how exactly are they moving forward talent wise and not backwards?
People are looking at it as a full season of MPJ and Randle. MBJ could be traded by October for assets. Now, if some how they pull off getting Paolo Banchero or Franz Wagner preferably Paolo these are the only guys out there that could potentially be All-Star level that might be available but outside of that, I don’t see it.
Underwhelming.
