Could The Celtics Actually Be a Top 5 Team?

Brian Windhorst is joined by ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Bobby Marks to break down ESPN’s NBA Future Power Rankings of the Celtics at #3 overall. 1. I think PG is one of the most overrated players in NBA history….. but its gone from overrated to underrated……..

I think the celtics will be really good….. I think they will be in the top 5 mix

  2. They underrated them last year. Not even a play-in team. Most analysts had them 11th-12th in the east and 22nd-23rd overall. They finished with a top 5 record with JT out for all but 15 games. They were 2nd in the east and had a top 5 record before JT returned. Vuc barely played for them.

Yes the east got better. But they also essentially swapped a non-playing Vuc and Jb for JT, mitch robinson and PG. Nevermind another year of development/experience from their young coaching staff and players.

I'd expect a top 5 finish again. 2nd or 3rd seed in the east. Playoffs of course is a whole nother matter.

  3. Celtics went from a elite organization to a basic organization after that trade nobody that knows basketball would ever think JB would get traded over Paul George thats a embarrassing to the organization

  4. Yes the Celtics are definitely still a top 5 team & your crazy if you think otherwise. I'd put SA, OKC & NY ahead of them but that's about it. The Philly expirement is way too untested to put them ahead of The Celtics. The C's have well proven by now that they have one of, if not the best plug in & play system in the whole league, 2 disappointing playoff exits doesn't change that. Swapping out Jb for JT while adding PG, Mitch, Conley & what will likely be the biggest steal in the draft with Chris Cenac, the C's undoubtedly got better this off-season. I dont think ppl realize just how overrated JB was & how inefficient he is in every stat category outside of scoring. They improved their shooting, defending, rebounding & without jb the turnovers & offensive fouls will be vastly limited too. And dont sleep on Pritchard, bro has steadily been getting way better every season. The C's will be a top 3 team in the East again.

  5. Same boston fans and analysts who said this trade was as egregious as nico trade now ranking this team higher than last years line up after losing the dude that had an mvp performance that pretty much lead the team 😂

  6. Windy A Klutch Sports Plant.. Doing His Podcast From A Hotel Room?? The Celtics Will Be So Much Better Than The 76'ers.. A Much A Better Team Than The 76'ers While The Lakers Laugh At Them

  7. Ugh. As a Mavs fan I can tell you we would prefer Windhorts isnt at Mavs media day. Luka might be gone, but you still dont have any Mavs fans. Also, I am sure the Lakers fans arent thrilled about you coming to their media day. Go hang out with San Antonio so you can glaze Wemby after his NBA meltdown, getting ejected and almost suspended, and failing to win DESPITE being the clear favorites.

  8. The Celtics might actually get pushed out of the top four in the East. The Knicks, Philly, Toronto and the Pacers might all outperform Boston. However, the Celtics do have a knack for piling up regular season wins.
