OKC just needs to keep their roster in tact through 2028, when the NBA enters the early opt-out window for the CBA. Teams already feel the new apron rules are flawed, and overly punishes teams for drafting well. I think they will adjust the CBA rules at that time

What’s more likely is that they will trade I-Hart and save his 25 million contract next offseason. This season they’ll try out Mara or Sober for a possible IHart replacement. And if they wanted to save more, then they’ll these Caruso and his 21 million. Then they’ll use the rest of the 2nd apron cap allowance to sign their young guys.
