  4. While I have the Spurs as a contender on who could win the upcoming 2026-2027 championship, I wouldn’t underestimate the New York Knicks or even the Philadelphia 76ers.

You forgot about Carter Bryant, and the two first round draft picks, they drafted 2 Centers one of which is an older more experienced Uconn guy that can offer immediate impact and the other is young and injured but has upside to be the best defender and rim protector coming out of the draft. Do your research 😉

  12. I appreciate this not being an extended Fox hate session like most Spurs conversation is but I'm genuinely baffled how you didn't once mention them drafting two centers, especially considering they didn't have many other moves to talk about

  13. I think the biggest question is Wembys physicality. Is he gonna retain the physicality he got used to from the play-offs ? That could either turn pretty ugly or maybe be the big step he needs offensively. Is he gonna get stronger and get better at holding and finding positions in the paint ? If they're gonna play him as a real five and not a stretch big there's still a lot of development required for him to really reach his potential.

  14. The Spurs are not terrifying. They are a ticking timebomb of potential implosion. Even with Wemby taking the lesser deal, they won't be able to afford Harper. They already are paying Fox his max contract. They are going to be paying Castle his max as well.

  20. Forgot about who they drafted in the 1st round this year (2 big guys)… although I do like the guys they drafted in the 2nd round also – Maliq Brown is a stud on defense and Ja’Kobi Gillespie looks like another guard with a lot of upside

  21. meh all 3 can be basically playing 30 mins a game just split their time evenly you just need harper to get a little more stout or focus on d a bit more and he can play with fox or with castle easily.

    that way you always have 2 of them on the floor all game which is more then fine for this year. Next year you gotta get off fox

  28. The SA Spurs are a tough team, but they don't have the IQ & patience to finish the games against the elite team like the NY Knicks.

  31. Is there a player with a similar play style to raptors Ibaka? Can play 4 or 5. Just quick enough to play the 4 just strong enough to play the 5. Smart defance, pick and roll, pick and pop. With one post move? If yes they should trade fox for him.

  33. Hachimura is a average to below-average defender and rebounder. If we wanted a knock down shooter who doesn't add a ton more in the 4 spot, going forward with Champagnie was fine. He is more undersized than Rui, but still a better rebounder AND defender, so the size gap doesn't matter.

    What the Spurs ACTUALLY needed was someone who was stronger, an at least decent rebounder and defender, and who could do more than just shoot. Harris is better than Hachimura at multiple facets of the game for the same cost. He may not be quite as good of a shooter but he isn't a slouch by any means. I think Spurs were propped up as one of the most likely destinations for Rui by the media more than anything. Most spurs fans were never SUPER gung ho on him.

  36. For me, it's all about if Wemby can develop a reliable shot near the post. For as good as he is, he's still developing as a player and we haven't seen peak Wemby yet. If he can play more to the post on offense and impose his will, they can absolutely win the title this year.
