  1. The Nets looked good against a short handed Charlotte team, but there was a lot of good things to take away: from the MPJ and Randle chemistry, to the excitement surrounding Egor, Traore, and the rise of Chaney Johnson. Ellis and Wagner got in there of course, and it was nice to see a glimpse of what the Nets shrewdly saw when they signed them. I still feel like we need to see more of Minott, even tho the so far marginal players like Wolf, Saraf and Powell turned in some encouraging performances. But we'll have to wait to see what the Nets can do against better teams. Can't wait to see Mikel get in the mix again soon. This Nets team should be fun to watch, even if they don't make the play-in. But if I had to bet based on only how they looked tonight, I think they can easily sneak in there if they stay relatively healthy and if they keep MPJ. That situation will be the ultimate wild card

  2. The Nets need to talk to each other more on defense and put a body on open opposing players much quicker. That dude Powell looks like he's ready for the season! Wolfe, Dayron Sharpe, Jullius Randle, and MPJ did well in this game also.

  3. First, the Hornets had nobody really playing. Let’s be objective here.

Couple things though: I wasn’t that impressed with Demin. This is a guy. I am really really high and I was hoping there’d be some carryover from the summer league into the preseason and honestly, I just saw a guy who were the most part went back to what we saw last year. That’s not a great sign so I’m hoping he shows more of that aggressiveness and getting to the hole in the next game.

However, overall, Randle was Randle and MPJ was MPJ. These guys are scorers they’re gonna put up points.

I saw a very similar style of offense to last year and the thing about Jodie’s offenses it gets people open specifically MPJ he’s gonna be able to get as many outside to fade away threes as he can chuck up, but how sustainable is that and when the good teams take that away, what pivots does Jordi have in his bag besides just taking a lot of threes on pin downs?

  4. No idea y we traded Claxton for nothing, not to pay anyone else to add to Randle. Wish we woulda saved money, because a long term add of Peyton Watson next to Michael Porter jr in front court makes more sense to me then a one and done Randle if u weren’t going to add more players for a playoff push
