Steve Kerr on Porzingis: “We’ve Texted” (No Timeline) + Yaxel at Center | Warriors Practice Q&A
TIMESTAMPED BELOW 👇 Steve Kerr confirms he’s exchanged texts with Kristaps Porzingis but hasn’t discussed KP’s health situation in depth. Porzingis wasn’t at Warriors practice on October 8, and there’s still no timeline for his return. Kerr says KP seems to be doing okay and explains how Golden State is preparing without him. Horford had said he hadn’t spoken with or seen KP; Kerr clarifies that they have texted. He also expects Porzingis to adapt quickly to the Warriors’ new offense once he’s available.
Could Yaxel Lendeborg play significant minutes at center? Kerr says it’s too early to tell, while praising Graham Ike and Charles Bassey. He explains how their vertical spacing, short rolls and floaters fit the Warriors’ new five-out offense.
This combined Q&A begins with Kerr’s October 7 postgame remarks after Golden State’s preseason loss in Portland, followed by his October 8 practice interview ahead of Saturday’s game against Sacramento. Kerr also explains why he feels refreshed, how the staff is changing its teaching methods, and why the team is now “all the way in” on its new identity.
Other topics:
• Al Horford’s knee and expected Saturday availability
• Dalen Terry’s defense, versatility and improving shot
• An unusual preseason schedule and split-squad approach
• Damian Lillard, Ja Morant and Portland’s roster
• Kerr’s renewed enthusiasm and the Warriors’ new identity
• New teaching methods, younger coaches and Frank Vogel
• Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody: February is an estimate, not a return date

I'm just going to go on a lemon say I think the word is really have the best bench of all the games that I watched… That includes Boston, Philly, all the games that were played this week I watched them all you know it's preseason you can tell when the starters went out their bench and the game changed
Hopefully they sign dalen terry I like him he can dribble and play defense he reminds of Lonzo ball a little but Lonzo was still a better shooter
