Jamison Battle is MORE than a shooter | Raptors Bench Mob Ep. 6
Can Jamison Battle become the Toronto Raptors’ next undrafted gem? In this seven-minute episode of The Bench Mob, our 10-part Raptors bench breakdown series, we analyze Battle’s game, strengths, weaknesses, and potential role alongside Scottie Barnes and Kawhi Leonard. From his three-point shooting and floor spacing to the areas he must improve, we explore how Battle can help Toronto—and what it would take to follow in Fred VanVleet’s footsteps as an undrafted Raptors success story.
The Toronto Raptors have spent years collecting players who can do everything except the one thing the modern NBA keeps asking them to do.
Shoot.
Defend four positions. Grab a rebound. Push the break. Make the extra pass.
Wonderful.
But eventually, somebody has to put the basketball through the basketball hoop.
And that’s where Jamison Battle comes in.
He wasn’t drafted. He doesn’t have the athletic profile that makes scouts start talking about ceilings and wingspans.
But he has something that can make Scottie Barnes’ life easier without ever touching Scottie Barnes’ stat line.
A defender who refuses to leave him.
The question is whether Battle can do enough of everything else to keep that defender on the floor.
Two times last season, you might argue that Jamison Battle saved the Raptors season from falling off the rails. The proof is in the pudding. From undrafted Exhibit 10 to 2 way to fully guaranteed contract. Jamison Battle has worked up the totem pole just like another undrafted gem… but is there more? Are there levels yet to be seen?
Rob this mini series is awesome I am really enjoying the format. Keep up the grind you are killing it
I hope he earns good minutes this season, I'm always rooting for the undrafted guy.
On a Minny B-ball side note, any idea if Gabe has progressed on part 2 of his docu-series? Hoping Battle's playoff performance gets some screen time
Nice touch using Peja in the thumbnail!
This might sound wild…. but i think he should start …
If we traded rj and quick
This is such a great series and a smart idea in general too. Helps us fans gain more insight and info about our bench that we might not have known and is just getting me hyped about this season!
He needs to fill the danny green role just like the 2019 raps…off the bench
he keep makin videos on people thats bouta get cut lmao
Man I love this series so much. I love battle a ton too. I hope he gets consistent minutes this year.
He needs to play more to give other players rest on the bench. He should have more minutes because our defensive game is better and will help Battle stay on the floor. We need those 3s and he's such a great teammate. Wishing Battle to have a career year.
I remember a raptor called Jason kapono
Another 💎 video! Well done 👑
My GOAT JB🎉🙏🏻🙏🏻
When gradey was flexing in the team photos, it was always jb that stuck out as the more muscular version.
