The Oklahoma City Thunder are less than a week out from the regular season, and just got a horrible injury development in last night’s preseason win. Rookie Otega Oweh collapsed during OT with what appears to be a serious lower leg injury (achilles). The injury sends shockwaves through the roster now, with Oweh having been seen as the consensus 15th man. Now, the Thunder have to figure out who is going to absorb those minutes and who they’ll bring on in his place if the injury is confirmed to be what the fears are. Ryan Breeden gives today’s update. The Thunder face off with the Spurs in less than a week, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA), Jalen Williams (JDub), Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, Cason Wallace and the rotation will look to get a big win on opening night, but this injury puts a damper on the preseason. Will he be out all season? Are they giving his 2-way spot to? K-rich should have more minutes anyway. The 2-way contracts are limited in their number of NBA games. They should leave the final NBA roster open. Zhaire Smith could take Oweh's 2-way.
