Do you think the Nets will sign Noah Clowney to a new contract after this season? Are you confident he can be a long-term rotation player?
They better
Noah Clowney is the LeBron James of Chris Mccullough’s. Pay the man. 2 years $6M
Sean Marks draft record is becoming epically bad:
Jarrett Allen is by far his best selection.
If you look at draft 2018, 2021, 2023 that might be a collection of the worst draft selections in history over such a short period of time. Here is the list:
Musa, KURUCS, Gray, Edwards, Thomas, Wilson, Whitehead, Clowney.
If you end up adding in Wolf, Powell, and Saraf?
When you look at these players that failed and the few that succeed there’s kind of a common denominator.
The ones that failed lacked a true role or position on the court, and also lacked the athleticism to make up for it. The nets love to talk about playing position list basketball, but they love to draft players that don’t have any position at all.
The players that have succeeded like Jarrett Allen and Claxton had to defined roles go figure. Sharpe we’ll see how it goes, but he has a defined role.
They did it again when they drafted Joshua Jefferson and Tyler. Once again I won’t surprised if they do not work out. Why? Because is their role? Unathletic, tweener bigs that do some things well but nothing excellent. This has been much of Marks trademark draft strategy and it’s been a lot of duds mainly because it’s a faulty strategy because positions and roles actually do matter and the players that are able to fit defined roles on teams are the ones that generally stick around for a long time.
Do not sign clowney to an extension he’s too inconsistent
