This is moving FAST… Raptors Signing Incoming

The Toronto Raptors are reportedly considering Rob Dillingham for their last two-way contract, and his camp is open to it. Their first targets are gone: Dalton Knecht signed with the Knicks, Sean Pedulla with the Kings and Micah Peavy with OKC. Ben Rogers breaks down how the race for the last two-way spot got here, Dillingham’s rollercoaster story, the 2024 No. 8 pick Toronto gave up in the Jakob Poeltl trade (the pick Dillingham went with), how he’d fit this roster, and the other options still out there, led by Blake Hinson.

Let me know in the comments: who should get the last two-way spot, Rob Dillingham or Blake Hinson? Drop D or H.

  1. ABOUT JAK:
I get it – people find things to complain about him. Doesn''t shoot three's, they want him to rebound more, could be a better rim protector. But listen, Jak does the other things (of course I want as many grabs and swats as possible) but its not like he doesn't do those things, still people want more. But what they ignore is the other things Jak does – he actually has a similar game to Gasol without the 3 point shooting. His screens, the way he creates space for others, how he positions himself/boxes out-forces tough shots, his court vision/passing skills, how he gets behind the defense for easy buckets, his putback ability, and he doesn't demand the ball. So you can have your shot blocker, rebounder, three point shooter, and he'll demand the ball (taking away from the rest), and he'll get his (instead of the rest) – but he'll also give up more potential points than he actually gets by not being a team player. The little things Jak does fits this team well, compliments the stars and role players, keeps his yap shut-not a diva, and brings his lunch pale to work. He is like the offensive lineman in the NFL, under appreciated for the important complimentary piece he is .

  2. As a flyer, sure. They need a high motor 5 more than anything but an asset is an asset. Pretty sure Raptors targeted Edey at the 8th pick and Dillingham wasn't ever in the picture.

  3. Not only should the Raptors sign Dillingham they should sign him to a 3 year extension give him 20 million would be a steal. Dillingham problem is size he is a little undersized and was like around 160 pounds at the draft he was too easy to push around as a rookie. Coming in young he did not not have the offense to justify his lack of strength to handle NBA players. These guys need better agents. Dillingham should have stayed in college two more years. This kid jumped at the millions now no one will sign him now his offensive upside is about to kick in. A two way with a 3 year contract to follow would be the steal of the century when we look back in a few years

  4. We need C Depth and PG. I don’t think you will get a C that Darko will play and Trayce would be ahead. I would rather have a bigger PG than any archetype since Shead and IQ are slight.

  5. Dillingham can’t shooter, can’t defend and can’t run a team. There’s a very good reason 3 teams passed on him. Please stop getting excited about fringe players.

  6. We need to package shead and tjd for another big….scottie can play point, as well.. also, jkw can take more minutes..alijah martin can also fill spot minutes…shead sucks on shooting, offense and throws ball away too often..too many t.o

  7. If they don't get Hinson I'd rather they bring back Key than a guard with random value. At least with Key, the team and fans know what they will be getting from him.

  8. that would be a smart 2 way acquisition . If rob can let the raptors and 905 train him onto the the Hard working Raptors grind way. he could be a lethal dark horse combo guard shooter. the next best available on dec would be – Dwight Powell , Kevin Porter jr . Gabe Vincent , and Kevin Love .
