Build now
Get Acuff help. I don’t know if I’m still 100% about trading Sabonis, but I’m not against it. I just don’t want tirade him and not get REAL VALUE back. The kings absolutely cannot just dump him for change. We get almost 50 million back when we get off Lavine’s contract at the end of the year, so whether we trade him or finishes the season, we have a large amount of money to offer UFA’s. Oh and the Kings have draft assets. The are open for business and I can’t imagine Perry will be as timid as Monte when it comes to getting deals done.
It's clear that Acuff doesn’t fit with LaVine & Sabonis. I actually think they don't like playing alongside him.
It’s his team no question
Help now is idiotic. If you have the bird in the hand the best thing for this team to do is maximize the draft while he’s on the rookie scale and build a core around him over the next two three four years.
The roadmap to me is the Knicks. Acuff as Brunson. The next step is switchable wings that can cover everything 1 through 4, 2 through 5 defensively, don’t need usage and preferably a 5 that can rim run, stretch the floor and clean up/shot block. But pushing assets now for him is exactly what we have done time again and is extremely short sided. The team has the key piece, now that affords patience.
