[Givony] 37 points, 5 blocks and 7 made 3s for Victor Wembanyama in his first ever game on US soil. Showed exactly why he’s considered a generational talent and the projected No. 1 pick in a loaded draft class.

why the fuck aren’t we tanking again?

Why tease us? We have close to zero chance of getting this guy.

We could have traded Beal 2 seasons ago and been in a position to get him. But at least we’ll be the 8 seed this year!

I’d rather see him on the Spurs than in Utah that’s for damn sure.

  5. I was gonna put make this a post but here’s my thoughts on the situation (and how we *should* be tanking):

I know it’s gonna be impossible for us to tank right this season while we have guys like Beal, KP, and Kuz playing and Ted “We will never tank” Leonsis here but after watching that Wemby vs Scoot game… it stings a little. There look to be two generational prospects and the whole draft class in general has some great potential (Dariq Whitehead, Amen Thompson). If our season ends up being capped at play-in, the mediocrity cycle will continue while other teams (that have went from contending to a rebuild back to contention) pass us by. Although I’m not a complete believer in the tank as you could look at a team like the Magic tanking through the years after Dwight, drafting role players and ending up with mid/late lottery picks until they finally got Paolo (thanks to another reset). I guess my main hope now is that the Wizards surpass everyone’s expectations to where we don’t need to be battling for a play-in spot again and not end up with another mid/late lottery pick. Or they finally get some lottery luck if they do make play-ins but lose out (but I’m not holding my breath)
