> “So when the trade deadline came, I didn’t know what to expect,” he said. “I’d heard a ton of rumors. I was in a place where, you know, I loved playing with those guys, but mentally I did wonder if a change of scenery would help. Because I was going into free agency as well. I was still focused on both sides of things. So when I got traded, I was all over the place. Is this great? Is this bad? I thought I was going to Boston.”
>Wait, the Celtics? In what trade?
>“Dennis Schröder,” he said. “I think I was supposed to go for Dennis Schröder to Boston. I don’t know what happened. Somebody might’ve wanted too much. But that was my impression, that I was going to Boston. The Sacramento one came out of nowhere.”

By last season’s trade deadline, the Bucks ended up trading DiVincenzo in a 4-team trade where they ended up with Serge Ibaka and the Celtics ended up trading Schroder (+ Enes Freedom and Bruno Fernando) for Daniel Theis.
Makes you wonder how different the playoffs would have been if the Bucks got Dennis Schroder instead of Serge Ibaka and the Celtics got Donte DiVincenzo instead of Daniel Theis.

Go ball out mr Ragu 🥲
If I remember correctly the rumor was that Milwaukee wanted Schroder AND Grant for Donte which would’ve gone over quite poorly for us based on the playoffs.
OFF THE TOP ROPE
Man I’ll miss Donte. He was a streaky shooter but played well defensively and filled in well as a starting SG during the championship year. People forget he went down early in the Miami series and he would’ve been huge against Atlanta and Phoenix as an extra guard defender
Apparently from rumors that came out after the deadline the Bucks wanted Schröder and Grant Williams. Which is a great thing the Celtics declined, because Grant became one of the better 3 and D wings in the league and is actually one of the better Giannis stoppers too. Though Grant Williams in Milwaukee’s Catch and Shoot offense would be pretty damn good…
Heck, are we sure he never played for boston? Maybe I just associate every ginger guy with Boston
Bricklayer
why didn’t the kings make him an offer
He was never happy in Sacramento which is somewhat understandable since we’re the Kangz. But he reportedly had issues with playing time, despite him getting 27mpg (2nd highest of his career) while shooting a crisp 36% from the field.
He will not be missed.
