I would say it would do Kyrie some good to experience that, but I’m honestly not sure how he would conduct himself or react.

Which is an insane thing to have to wonder.

This is an old article, but it’s well written. Worth reading.

  3. You know I had to do it one time lol #holocaust

  4. detroitsportspain

Well atleast Danny Green didn’t write this.

BEFORE YOU TYPE IT: Old does not mean irrelevant

As a disgruntled Celtics fan I am glad to know this about Ray. Kudos second best shooter ever.

i remember walking through the holocaust museum well over a decade ago, when i was in 5th grade for a class field trip – i was a typical 12 year old at the time and felt you needed to be “always masculine by showing no vulnerable emotion”

i had tears in my eyes within seconds and they persisted until i choked them up when we left.

if it’s ever feasible, EVERYONE needs to go there

Thanks for the share. Great read. Kyrie and his Twitter fingers don’t realize how much hate there is in this world.

This is rather powerful, on a side note sometimes I have a problem with Schindlers list. The holocaust wasn’t about survival, it was a planned extermination and failure of the Jewish people by the colonial empires of Europe. The bravery they had as they died was something else but it’s frustrating that we just blame the nazis and not the entirety of anti Semitic Europe which we then just basically pardoned to go and fight the communists. Sigh I’m just sad all my old family was Russian jews. When we came to Ellis Island they made us change their last name, and our old one probably died out in ww2. Breaks my heart.

  11. Impressive, let’s see Danny Green’s Auschwitz post

Love ray allen. His jersey woulda been retired if the freak wore a different number

  13. Jesus could teach some people with his dick game for sure.

  14. “Honestly … it made me feel sort of irrelevant. Which was a strange thought to have as a young NBA player who was supposed to be on top of the world. I was realizing that there were things outside of my bubble that mattered so much more. I wanted my teammates to feel that as well. So every team I played on after that, whenever we were in D.C. playing the Wizards, I would ask our coach if we had time to go through the museum. Every visit was different, but each guy came out thanking me for taking us there. I could see in their eyes that they had a different perspective on life after that experience.”
What a great person to take that leadership role and educate others. Love it.

Auschwitz was a life changing experience. Pretty sure this picture is of Birkenau, a separate area, but part of the same tour. Can’t remember where I lost it, probably the glasses or shoes. The Holocaust museum in DC is amazing but can’t hold a candle to this experience

  16. Auschwitz is definitely one place I want to visit some day, having been to Mauthausen already, it was definitely a sobering experience.
