Some interesting things I noticed:
– The 5 most team PPP out of these doubles goes Giannis > Booker > KPJ > Luka > Kyrie
– KPJ is a huge surprise to me as he’s one of the few non “star” players on this list. He’s getting double teamed often and playing extremely well out of it.
– There’s 3 teams with two players on this list: Cavs (Garland & Mitch), 76ers (Embiid & Maxey), and the Nets (KD & Kyrie)
– There’s a few stars missing from this list that I expected to see: Tatum, Jokic (Maybe not, because his passing is dangerous), AD, and PG. Anyone have an opinion on why that might be?

Jokic probably isn’t on this list because sending hard doubles at him is usually a mistake that he will punish relentlessly
For Tatum, it may be that he’s almost always surrounded by 4 threats right now. Doubling off Brown, Smart, Horford, White, Brogdon, Grant, or Hauser is intentionally leaving a guy open who will punish you.
This matches up with the eye test quite well in terms of the guys who are great at finding the open man or the right play out of the double team.
Jokic’s exclusion makes sense since he’s the best passer in the league but I’m surprised that Tatum isn’t there.
Hoped to see Embiid’s PPP a bit higher here. Hopefully Maxey coming back as our best volume shooter and cutter will up that a bit
Idk this list doesn’t rlly feel accurate they might have a weird criteria for tracking it, cuz there’s no way VanVleet gets doubles more than KD, and Tyrese Maxey more than AD.
Are they counting collapses in penetration?
Just pointing out this favors ball handlers because it counts hedges and other PNR coverages as “double teams.”

I think AD is missing from this list because the Lakers have moved away from having him iso with the ball and towards deep entry passes and tons of low pick and roll near the paint, which means he only touches the ball for a few seconds before taking a shot. A good adjustment imo as AD has sometimes struggled passing out of doubles.
Curry surely not in this list because he gets quadrupled teamed from half court according to Warriors fans.

Teams are starting to realize that doubling Garland is a good strategy right now. His size makes it harder for him to get the ball out and JB’s sicrit playz are having dudes just stand in the corner so they can’t get to him in time before it’s a jump ball or a turnover.
How do I find the double teams stat on NBA.com?
Doubling JT is legit the dumbest thing you can do. You want to mix it up with odd rushes and soft hammer downs
Double teamed stats are always dicey. They tend to classify stuff like hedging a screen as a double. There’s a reason PnR heavy guards dominate these lists.
Once Harden hits the number of games to qualify, Philly will probably have 3 players on here
