Something about MJ is just how well he protected the ball. It’d be in his hands so often—he took 37 shots from the field in this game—and yet he turned the ball over just once (he had four assists too).
He averaged 3.6 turnovers per game in 88/89, the highest of his career, yet he averaged 22.2 shots per game in addition to eight assists.
This ability to look after the ball is very underrated when looking at player qualities. It’s very common for a superstar to score a lot but effectively be the reason his team loses due to timely turnovers caused by them not being able to protect the ball properly.

The defence back then was so trash ie this video yet these old heads wanna claim they can score 40ppg in this era. 😂

He’s great ofc, but the Suns could have played better defense on him too. I can’t tell at points if he’s that good, or the Suns are just that bad at defense, hah.

Some of the worst defense I’ve ever seen. All these old heads talk about giving hard fouls and nobody even put a body into him during all those dribble drives.

Lol Mike was abusing #9.

Watching this you can feel just how much better players are nowadays with state of the art training and medicine. Makes it impressive how dominant LeBron is in the current era

Those bulls teams were stacked. And coached by the greatest coach ever. Ain’t no one gonna beat them

They needed overtime to win.
As if they were kids? Huh?

Come on man it’s Christmas 🤣

These are some of the easiest points I’ve ever seen MJ score. In a Finals game, no less.

For everyone saying the defense is weak, its just that his body control is Impeccable and he’s just so much more athletic than everyone if you ask me.

He hits some great contested fadeaways here, but man, the closeouts off of some of those curls were disgustingly bad

Barkley’s body language is really funny after some of Mike’s tough makes. He could tell it was going to be a long night.

I no longer respect Michael’s rings after watching this, look at the defense on that first shot. It looks like we owe Kobe an apology. He’s actually the GOAT

I’ve never been an era hater, but a lot of this defense is ass ngl. Dan Marjerle gettin blown by on first step like it’s nothing and there’s pretty much no resistance until Mike’s at the rim. idk how that man was all-defense
