Pascal Siakam Really Is The SUPERSTAR The Raptors Need (52 Points At MSG)

The Toronto Raptors finally ended their 6 game losing streak yesterday with a 113-106 victory over the New York Knicks and it was Pascal Siakam who stole the show at Madison Square Garden after dropping a career-high 52 points. Siakam joins an elite group of players who have dropped 50 or more points in an away game as MSG and even more impressively Spicy P shot 68% from the field and only took 25 (!) field goal attempts. This game showcased the player at his best and the Raptors needed every bit of it to finally win a game, but Siakam has really been balling all season for the Raptors whose fans are wondering if he can be the player to lead them into the future.

it is no secret the Raptors remain in a perilous situation on the season with a 14-18 record and fans will still be wondering what the direction of the team should be going forward. If the direction points towards the draft what will that mean for Siakam’s future with the team? In a rebuild situation, some fans will feel we should start fresh without Siakam but are they failing to appreciate the quality of the player in possession of the Raptors. Siakam is bordering the superstar status and maybe finding HIM a co-star is the best practice moving forward.

  1. Lets puts a break with the super star talk. Lets see how he does in this year playoffs. Siakam had great regular season in the past and then become a regular player in the post season.

  2. Ok so Raps finally won one… and what?? Beat Knicks that were on a B2B?? C'mon man. It's the Knicks. Not Boston, Nets, Bucks. Not Nuggs. Not Pelicans. Y'know…good teams…Sure. I'm glad they stopped the 6 game slide. Us fans can feel good about that as well as Siakum having a god night. But let's keep things in perspective.

  3. don't get too much hype in win in nyc.. it is one game they have a lot of work to do. I still believed that we have to upgrade trade trent jr. and fred…..

  4. People forget that in 2020 the bubble year every team was given like 8 warm up games that didn't go against your record. The sun's went undefeated and missed the post season remember because the games didn't count.. well in those games Pascal was bad.. and they were just warm ups. The narrative became he isn't good in the playoffs. But in reality he wouldn't have been good even if those games had no extra significance. He was way way out of shape. Because he was good in both the 2019 run and last season.

  5. Sad part is…this is what needs to happen for this team to win. Will his value ever be higher? 😬

  6. Time to move FVV if we want to maximize Siakam. As he needs a pass first pg to help his teammates get going.

  7. Siakam has not proven his superstar title but he’s a very good #2 option, like Jaylen Brown level

  8. I don't give Superstar title because one 50+ game in regular season, or having great regular season, that's an all-NBA/All-Star.
He hasn't shown me anything for me believe he can be that guy to lead a team to the Final.
It takes very special few to be that guy and I reserve "superstar" title for those.
Until then, he's a taller version of Demar Derozan.

  9. Keep in mind here, the Knicks literally have no passable defenders at Pascal's size, so although it's amazing that he completely took advantage of that fact, the issue still remains when he does encounter a team with solid defenders at his position, can he score regardless of it and get a game like this when he is actually well defended? So far this season he's shown that he can be an incredible distributor in those cases, but not always provide the weight that a top 5 offensive player might.

  10. I think they need to stop getting so hungry on these long athletic swingmen and add shooters. Like the direction they should be going towards is to build around Scottie, Pascal Og and just surround them with shooters and just keep koloko against bigger teams

  11. We need apologies from y’all…y’all talking bout trade him..smh😂😂😂

  12. Now everyone is saying he is the man lol …what happened to he isn't a number one …what happened to Tatum is a better player lol 😆

  13. You know how bad FVV is, In the 4th quarter with Siakam dominating Periods 1-3, he takes 9 shots making only 3 , while Siakam only takes 2 shots. Speaks volumes.

  14. We still need a first option that can take the load or share it at times with Siakam the offense would be even more fire cause we can run offense through someone else they will have to double team and Pascal won't have the attention on him all the time so he can go to work and break down the other team 😎

  15. But happens when he plays against a team that can actually defend him… We will find out tomorrow. I don't want to hear he was tired excuses.

  16. Raptors wasted Siakam’s performance this season if they don’t find a real PG. Fred just like to play hero ball and don’t care about how to make team better

  17. I wouldn't call him a superstar but definable the way he is playing right now just a tier below. If Raps want to build around Pascal in the next few years (until the rise of Barnes) they will need to surround Pascal with more shooters.. obviously easier said than done.

If it was up to me a full reset is needed and sadly trade Pascal for a kings ransom along with trading the rest of our mediocre players like GTJ, FVV and Chris for some draft picks or younger prospects. Then we need to replace Nurse (maybe trade him to a team for some picks or players).. cause as much as I appreciate what Nick has done.. he is not the coach you want to develop our young players especially Barnes.. he is playing him totally wrong.
