Please give Jayden Epps the starting point guard role. He has more than earned it and is probably the best player on this team. Hawkins has not matured at all and needs to be benched. He might have 5 good plays and his stat line will look decent but so many bone headed plays. I think Perrin could give you 80% of the good with 75% less of the bad Hawkins gives. Skyy hasn't really proven he can be an effective college basketball player either. Underwood took Ty Rodgers out of the rotation when it should have been Skyy Clark. Epps has to be the primary initiator of your offense. Or play through Dainja in the mid post. We have a bunch of solid secondary initiator guys who can attack close outs and make plays, but Epps is the only one who has proven to consistently create for himself and others by himself. An Epps, Shannon, Goode, Mayer, Dainja starting lineup. With Harris, Melendez, Rodgers, Hawkins (if he can finally get his head on straight, if not I want to see Perrin) off the bench.
Horrible Illinois team. Horrible coach. Stand around and shoot 3s didn't work again (29%). To LOSE to a Northwestern team that shot under 30% is incredible. That Northwestern shot 40 free throws is incredible. That an Illinois player would pick up TWO fouls in the first TWENTY-FOUR seconds is incredible. Time for a new coach. Who would ever want to play for Mad Underwood?
