  1. >Not gonna lie to you, it wasn’t weird, it wasn’t anything… it was just like “I’m playing at home like I have been for the past five years”. The reception was phenomenal, I was appreciative of it, from everybody. The tribute video was great… but it felt like just a typical Jazz night, back and forth, screaming, yelling… it was awesome, it was good to be back.

    >I didn’t know what to expect to be honest, but when I got it, like I said, it just felt like a regular Jazz game, like you’ve been here, and the support, the love you get is unmatched. Like I said, I was appreciative of it, but obviously it could’ve went one of two ways, we all know that in this room, and it went the right way, I feel like, and I appreciate that.

Man, makes me miss Don more and more. Great dude, great player, once a Jazzman always a Jazzman

It feels obvious that some fans hurt him more than what I would have expected. And he’s being genuine to choose to not bring some negative experience he had with fans up too it feels like. I think he still needs time to process and come to terms that moet fans here genuinely appreciate what he did on and off the court. Extremists are often the loudest especially on social media, but is nowhere close to a good sample of reality.

Props to the reporters asking a lot of good questions for Don to process and give him an opportunity to reconcile with Utah.
