  1. I don't understand that take. Markkanen is an off ball scoring savant. He is scoring efficiently in myriad of ways without needing the ball in his hands all the time. On top of that, he likes it in Utah and doesn't want a move to a bigger market. It would be stupid to move him.

Utah has loads of trade assets in players and picks that they can use to make the team better. They should be on a lookout for teams that blow up their project and enter tanking mode and bring one of their stars to Utah, using those picks and player assets. For example if they could bring in an elite passer, like Lamelo, to take over Conley's spot and maybe one or two more pieces while developing Ochai and Kessler, Utah will be really good in couple of years.

  2. You don't trade Laurie. They already have too many wins to be in the top 4 of the draft. That Victor dream isn't realistic for them. The market for him in the summer will be hot if you still want to trade him.

  3. Markkenen is always good like Wiggins the first two team just don't know how to utilize him they're gonna stick with him and Kessler hopefully keep Clarkson Beasley and Vando.

  4. Trade gay Beasley and Conley, keep the rest. You get low in the lottery? Use the future picks from twolves and Cavs plus your 2023 pick for the spot you want.

  5. There's a saying in Utah…I believe it's you never trade a 25ppg scorer, especially if he's white 😅

  6. trade Markkenen to Knicks for 6 more picks..then tank….centers are worthless in today's nba so trade that guy too…learn from your Rudy years.

  7. I stopped watching as soon as you said they should trade Lauri. You’re literally crazy he’s a massive part of the jazz future. Trash take

  8. It's a fair point. Utah was completely prepared to tank this season, but they were too good. And we always knew we might have to make some more trades to get where we need to be in the tank bowl. And Lauri is exceeding expectations, which means his value is high, and it's best to get high value.

On the other hand, I don't know if Lauri's reputational value around the league is where it should be to really get the value he's worth to the Jazz. He's come out of nowhere, just like the Jazz, so some people are probably thinking it's a fluke. Jazz fans are happy to have some light in the darkness of a rebuild. He can't win on his own, so you can still tank with him.

And maybe the way the Jazz play is anti-tanking. By that I mean, 5 out, ball movement, lots of passing, is a way for bad teams to play hard and win. That's a good culture to have, and it may mean that Utah would have to cut to the bone to really tank, and then you risk developing a losing culture.

Personally, I hate rewarding bad teams, and punishing teams that try to win. There is a science to tanking, but the Jazz already tried and got here. Going further is rough. Why should fans have loyalty to a team that puts out a shitty product? Short term pain for long term gain? It is really rough. The CBA and the Draft punish teams that are good, making it hard to sign FAs that would put you over the hump, as well as worse draft picks.

Hard part is, I think you may be right. Lauri is amazing, but is he on the Utah timetable? The current team is not good enough to win a chip, which is why we blew up the previous team, and we aren't gonna be signing elite FAs with this team. The only way to get top end talent for the foreseeable future is through the draft, or by trading the picks to other teams blowing it up. But would that be enough to become a contender? And if we keep the picks, will Lauri still be this good when they are ready?

  9. Ugh. Love the channel, but this might straight up be the worst video you've ever done. Tanking is philosophically stupid, and it's hard for me to believe anyone could look at the Jazz now and suggest straight-faced that they should trade Lauri Markkanen. Be better.

  10. AS a jazz fan for 30 years absolutely no way i trade Mark. we have a good history of european talent staying in utah and american talent not wanting to. You dont trade the proven commodity for a shot at what if no ty

  11. You do know the purpose of a rebuild right? It’s to rebuild a team with younger talent and try something new. So why I’m the hell would the Jazz trade their young star who hasn’t even been here for a year and is already going to be an all-star?

  12. What the Jazz are doing is mind blowing. You just entered a full-rebuild and have a historic draft coming up and you’d rather aim for a mediocre 40-42 record just to be a play-in team? What a joke of a franchise embrace the tank and accept losing for the future!

  13. Before the season started Warrior should have offered Wiseman, Moody, and one first for Lauri. No way Jazz take that now.

  14. If they do land Wembanyama, are people just going to start pushing for him to be traded before he ruins their draft odds and impedes their rebuild? 🤔
