Doubt that, but I genuinely do believe that pro sports are unfairly influenced due to sports gambling. I don’t believe such a lucrative industry is entirely left up to chance. I used to think it was just coincidence, but I see so many obvious missed calls or teams magically making huge comebacks (more so in the NFL) in the final minutes more often than I remember. Or you have in the MLB for another example where the ball is conveniently altered on a whim, particularly when bets were all over for Judge’s home run record. The legality of sports gambling unfortunately has me see sports more as a controlled spectacle like WWE instead of an actual competition.
