One of the best parts of the KD trade as a Nets fan is getting rid of Friedell.

Life witout Irving and Harden in particular is probably saner, and a lot more fun. The Nets are a team to like again. Fans are tired of this mercenary garbage by players trying to protect their legacy. Some of the mroe successful teams in the NBA were built through shrewd personnel decisions, and the draft. Be nice to see that once more.
People forget that KD and Kyrie signed with the Nets in free agency. The only assets they lost was through the James Harden deal and got it back from the Mavs & Suns deal. The players they got in return are better than what they had back in 2019, prior to KD and Kyrie. Their future looks bright. I'm excited for this team moving forward. They'll be a fun team to watch.

We're better now than pre-Kyrie/KD. This roster is 12 deep right now. We're going to be the best defensive team in the league by the end of the regular season. We have scorers in Bridges, Spence, Cam Thomas, Cam Johnson, Harris, Curry. Our rebounding is also better. We almost beat the Sixers in the very first game these guys have played together, and Embiid and Harden both played great. If the refs had given us a few more FTs the outcome goes the other way. I think a lot of guys on this team were feeling smothered by KD and Kyrie. Them being gone frees up guys like Harris and Thomas to thrive. Hopefully – Simmons as well.

All they need is a humble superstar like Giannis or dame and they'll be contenders.
