THIS is how Lakers fans think. You know you’re not the best team so you plot and angle for how to avoid certain teams. Spurs as an organization, from top down, have never behaved this way. To be the man, you have to beat the man. If they can’t beat whoever is in front of them then they don’t deserve to hoist the trophy.

Minnesota back to back conference finals beat Denver last time they played in a series 2 years ago
San Antonio a 62 win team with a generational talent at Center matched up against Jokic
OKC the defending champions that are probably better than last year and beat Denver last year with probably the back to back mvp over Jokic in SGA.
And in the finals , possibly the Celtics who have won a championship just 2 years ago and will be in their 3rd finals with Tatum Brown and White .
I doubt Jokic would surpass LeBron or MJ as people’s goat but if he beats all of those teams at full strength at least it’ll be at a point where it’s hard for even his haters to deny his greatness and he’ll much closer to legitimate goat discussions for people who don’t just count rings .

I view it differently. The Spurs know they can beat OKC IF they are prepared. They wont be able to defeat OKC in a playoff series without the appropriate preparation. The Nuggets will prepare them for that. I think they always know what path they are taking. And besides, Castle was not 100% back. and it was not just wemby , but kornet was not available. They were planning to lose it at the start.
