John Fanta on the Cavaliers’ playoff chances, what the Browns should do in the draft & the Guardians
The Cleveland Cavaliers are right in the middle of a postseason push, and when you bring in someone like John Fanta, the conversation naturally starts there. From his perspective, the Cavs have the talent to make real noise, but it all comes down to consistency and identity in big moments. With stars like Donovan Mitchell and the addition of James Harden, Cleveland has enough offensive firepower — the question is whether they can defend, execute late, and prove they’re tougher when it matters most.
Then you pivot to the Cleveland Browns, where the draft conversation is heating up. Fanta’s perspective aligns with what a lot of people around the league are thinking — don’t overthink it. Let the board come to you and take the best player who fits what you’re building. With Andrew Berry leading the way, the Browns have to walk out of this draft with real contributors, not just potential. Whether that’s offensive line help or a playmaker, the focus has to be on players who can impact winning sooner rather than later.
And when it comes to the Cleveland Guardians, the conversation stays consistent — pitching gives them a chance every single night. The question is whether the offense can keep up over a full season. With José Ramírez continuing to lead the way, Cleveland’s ceiling will ultimately be tied to how much support he gets from the rest of the lineup. If the bats come around, this is a team that can stay right in the mix. If not, they’ll be fighting uphill despite having the arms to compete.

All the hyped up Shedeur fans .
I hold back my enthusiasm. I hope he improves.
But I got my hopes up with Baker.
To me Baker was much better rookie than Shedeur.
John Fanta is a goat
Last year they drafted 2 RBs, only one is legit, 2 QBs and only one is playable..but zero linemen or WRs. Drafting defense at 6 would be Browns level dumb and that's why I expect it 🙄
I'm praying Mobley has been practicing free throws
Im not watching the guardians, until the the Indians again and in native American, look at my last name 💯🤬🦅😶🌫️✌️
Players who don't need to be guarded outside of the paint: wade, mobley, allen.
Good luck 😂
As a Cleveland sports lifer, you must be delusional. Worst sports city. Besides 2016, it's been almost 100 years since a valid championship. Y'all are the definition of insanity.
1000 shows is impressive and i agree with Fanta this show has changed how I consume Cleveland sports info!
Do or Die for Cavs.
