My vote is Dub he could average like 22/5/4/2 on 50/40 splits and be an all defense level player. He also may be considered a forward for voting and Giddey will probably be considered a guard.

Depends on whether they count as guards or forwards. Whoever is considered the guard will have it tougher as West guards are so stacked with a few guarantees each year.

—-Disclaimer this is NOT financial advice—Dub lead the league in steals since Jan 1st. He blocks shots, and this teams defense is going to be insane with Chet healthy. Dub currently isn’t on betting sites for Most Improved Player or all defensive team/DPOY but I will absolutely be placing bets on those things. He may not win any of those but the odds are going to be so huge not to take educated chances. Not breaking the bank but I do believe it’s possible. I am not a homer, lived in DET all 42 years of my life, but I expect this young man to take a large leap as a player his sophomore season. All star games are popularity based, even for coaches, but as far as All Star level talent, I absolutely believe he can be that next season.

People don’t want to hear this but Giddey’s ceiling is limited without an outside shot. Whether midrange or especially three point, a shot would open up his game and help him be more effective without the ball. Considering what he brings on defense and offense, JDub is likely already the better player and has a higher ceiling.
Honestly giddey for his international fan base and how he stuffs the box score more than dub

Giddey is more likely to be more popular because reasons. And that’s all that all-star is: a popularity contest.
If Giddey makes an all-star team I think he’d also have a chance at MIP this year.
I think it’s going to come down a lot to what his 3 point shot looks like when the season gets going, as it was falling much better in the 2nd half of the season than the first. If that improvement continues, his IQ and inside scoring ability will really help him shine. Passing and rebounding is already there.
Idk how much Giddey’s defense will improve in one offseason but based on his size, I hope it will some.
Short answer, even though Dub will likely be better in two years, I’ll take Giddey for 2023-2024.
