[Sixers_Galaxy] The #Sixers “desire” to sign Paul George next offseason has been described as the league’s “worst-kept secret,” per @PompeyOnSixers. “There are some who expect both sides to reach an agreement, leading to George joining forces with Embiid and Maxey next season.”

Idk how I feel about this. Isn’t PG injury prone.

  2. Nickl444

He’s been looking sort of washed recently. Definitely lost a step defensively. Not sure I’d be comfortable giving him a bag.

  3. Maxing PG would be a mistake IMO. This guy is a worse player and a worse fit for our team than harden and we all agreed we didn’t want to max him.

  4. TheStonedAlchem1st

If maxing a 34yo PG is really our final grand plan for getting a title with Embiid then I’m officially out on Morey and ownership when it blows up in our faces.

  5. MaxeytoEmbiid

When has Pompey been right about anything? That said, you sign PG13 to a max, okay cool. How are we gonna fill the other 8-9 roster spots?

  6. XxStormySoraxX

This shit is going to be the Elton Brand deal all over again lmao.

  7. Masterpubes

I never trust Pompey. I’d trust Windhorst over him.

  8. Knight725

    he old and always hurt.

this is a franchise destroying move. people gonna be reminiscing about how not bad the tobi contract was if we give 34 y/o pg the max

I just don’t understand the continued drive to sign aging stars on the decline when Denver literally just showed us how to win with a generational talent center, an all star level #2, and a deep rotation of above average but well-fitting role players.

He can’t be worse than Tobias so Idc

We only have a couple more years of prime Embiid left so we can’t fuck around anymore

  11. So it’s gonna be illegal tampering and we lose all of our draft picks

  12. Sheriff-Gotcha

A max is definitely not the greatest for the team from a cap space standpoint. However from a team comp prospective, an aging PG that is a catch and shoot threat who can drive to the hoop on occasion slots in perfectly next to Joel and Maxey.

I am still curious why he would want to come here when he is currently playing in/near his hometown, in better weather, about to be in a new arena, for one of the biggest spending owners in the league. Especially if Harden is in his ear about Morey and how much Morey don’t give a damn about players etc etc. Also, Balmer seems like the type to throw money at him and Harden to ensure that new arena is packed out.

No.. we don’t another porcelain doll on this team.

I loathe Harden.. but the Sixers should have brought him back for whatever he wanted to take of Josh’s money. Removing Doc was what the team needed most of all.

This team can’t escape bad GMs.. Morey has been atrocious. I’m done with the analytics guys.

  14. This smells more like PG trying to get leverage in LA to maximize the deal he receives.

  15. Let’s wait to see if KD wants out once PHX loses early in the playoffs….

  16. BurnerAccountforAss

    He’s not leaving LA.

The Clippers are competitive, close to home, and in fucking LA.

  17. Doobie_Howitzer

The argument for PG is that we can then trade all those picks to fill out the roster or hunt a 4th star

I’m more interested in seeing what KD is doing if we’re looking at 30+ year olds

  18. ClintiusMaximus

Oh christ, Silver gonna take all our picks isn’t he, that bald ET-looking fuck.

  19. Long_Egg_6367

Get my man’s on this team expeditiously!!

  20. Jhlesser

Whatever deal we have to give to get PG is gonna be bad and definitely suck after 2 years but he would slot in perfectly and at least be miles better than tobi for that much money and as a 3rd. Is it a great option? No, but I don’t know what other options we have other than spending every 1st we have for mikal Lauri or someone else

  21. Next-Team

I genuinely don’t know what to think about this, and not sure if we need to be overly concerned about the future since our championship window is reliant on Embiid so short term win now moves are fine by me

  22. bruhboi2222

The only benefit of this is that we wouldn’t have to trade our picks for him like if we were to trade for a Max player. Although I still don’t agree that this is smart, PG has been on the decline.

  23. gustriandos

There is less than 0 chance this happens. This is PG getting leverage on ballmer.

  24. FRED44444

We have no other options. Id rather risk this and have a greater chance to get embiid a title than not do it and have less chance.

  25. jawntothefuture

Cool. He would definitely be an upgrade over Tobi

  26. Please no (for more than 2 years), dude is on the downside and with his history the dropoff will be extreme.

  27. christophnbell

Elite 3 level scorer and wing defender that slots in a different role than our two best players currently. Sounds pretty good.

  28. ShaunyDukes

I love this as long as there is a plan for the 4 spot. It’s the most critical position and I can’t see PG holding up against Power Forward talent across the league for 82+16 for multiple years
