You know, sitting for a couple days is really good for the extra rest. I think next game you’re gonna see a lot of different Mavericks team just knocking off a slight bit of rust.

It is Kidd, for sure! If you do not heat up and prepare the players, they get distructed by surprise omn court. They have too many problems on court inythis case … Have you played sometimes in situation like this? Then you know! Psychology is huge for players! And coach is the one to do it properly!

RJ is 100% right. the blame is on the players and the way they came out. Luka and Kyrie came out slow with no effort. DJJ and THJ couldn't hit anything. Exum looked scared. Kleber and Gafford were soft

…and even if LD would "decide" to do selfish from 3 … It is agian coach who is the boss and should command! Call time out and make your busniess as a coach! But Im sure LD did not decide anything .. it is a poor preparation, since you see the same poor energy from all other players behaviour, as well! On th econtrary, I think Kidd wants to take ball out of Luka's hands and this is not going to work well!

Even if you think the "fire Kidd" people are crossing a line, you have to accept the fact the Mavs will be in a coaching deficit in just about every matchup they could get.
Which coaches do you think he's better than? Doc Rivers maybe? Even that might be a wash, and he's notoriously bad for as many opportunities he's been given.
We have the best player on the floor in every series (except the Nuggets, and that ones 50/50) and a balanced roster. Because of this we should have a chance in every game.
Unless there are major injuries, every outcome is firmly on Kidd and frankly we have to overcome his poor decisions at times due to the coaching deficit.
Did you feel the difference in how we just kinda watched the Mavs get killed on multiple runs, didn't challenge Harden's leg kick out, etc…while Lue is calling timeout the second he sniffed a Mavs run? Big difference.
It is 1 game. The defense was solid. Only 109 points when giving up 50% on 3s? Obviously they need a couple of guys to step up on offense to help Doncic and Irving. But I am not worried yet. Let's get game 2!
You have to blame Kidd for taking his foot off the gas last 2 games. You also have to blame him for not being able to match the adjustments clips were making. He was out coached from the beginning till the end. You also have to blame him for Luka playing iso ball vs being a playmaker.
I could see this coming. Luka and Kai getting nearly 2 weeks off, they were bound to come out rusty while the old Clippers come out with their best stuff. Harden almost always seems to have a "yeah, I was MVP of this league" type of game in Game 1 and then becomes absolute trash by Game 6 & 7.
But Kidd certainly didn't do himself any favors. Why did THJ get like 17 minutes in this game while Josh Green only got about 4 minutes? Green should be on the court whenever Westbrook/Powell is cause he's got the defense to make them look bad….THJ is trash. And sure, Josh could have a 2 for 5 game just like THJ did. But at least he can bring more to the offense than just shooting AND he's a MUCH better defender than THJ.
Then there was that Harden foul he didn't challenge. I had LeBron & JJ Reddick in my head with that one & knew the game was cooked at that point. Where LeBron was saying "one possession can lose you the series". I still think the Mavs are gonna win it cause Luka & Kai had shaken off the rust in the 2nd half, but I knew the Mavs were cooked for Game 1 with that LeBron quote in my head.
The game wasn't completely out of hand at that point and it would've put Harden into a little foul trouble. But instead, 3 free throws and it was the beginning of the end.
I think it is safe to say it was a bad game top to bottom from the Mavs. I will worry big time if game 2 is similar.
The refs so far are rewarding bully ball.
We do t have 3 weeks to right the ship. Jason Kidd had shitty rotations and a shitty game plan. When the 3s are not falling then run a play to get an easy bucket inside. He is the worst coach at in game adjustments.
Luka couldn’t be a play maker when his sorry teammates were shooting 15% FG%. Everyone blames Luka when other players go 0/7, 0/8, 1/9, 0/9. Blame them. They missed every shot he got to them. Blame DJJ, PJ, Tim, Maxi, Gafford. It was on them. Not Luka. They were awful!
I’ve said all season, Kidd is too passive. Resting Luka and Kyrie missing the last 2 games was unnecessary since they were going to be off a week anyway. He did not prepare them, but Tim, Dante, Maxi, DJJ, PJ played like crap. Blame them. Blame Luka and Kyrie for starting off terribly. But blame the other millionaires for not doing their jobs and trying to hide behind Luka and Kyrie.
The Centers got punked bad by Zubac, and the supporting cast shot 27% on FGA and 20% from 3PT, there's not a lot Kidd can do with that. Kyrie also really struggled against the double-teams in the 5 minutes that Luka wasn't on the floor. I didn't see any egregiously bad coaching, but I did see some egregiously bad play at times.
