The Suns are a 2nd Apron team. That means, the Suns can not take back more money and can't take back 3 or 4 salaries for one contract. So KD would have to get traded for a player making close to KD's contract. The Suns also can't send cash in a trade and can't use a trade exception. So the options are limited. Depending on what happens with the TWolves, a KD for KAT trade would work. But either way, KD would have to get traded for another elite player or a player with that type of contract…

Suns need to trade Devin Booker and KD. They have no picks whatsoever and at this point a team would be FOOLISH to give up anyway that could help win a championship to get KD. Send Booker to a team that needs a #2 and has picks and call it a day.
