If John Wall never got hurt he would’ve never been “the guy.” And even then he still isn’t. I agree with people saying he’s one of the most overrated players in the league. Plus he has a no trade clause. Something no one will ever have ever again. KD and Booker now gotta live with the team they got. Maybe they should’ve kept CP3 or at least Ayton. They have no real solid bench players or depth, and definitely no defense. Once your shots don’t go down it’s a wrap. Once you start to turn the ball over it’s a wrap. Suns are now the joke of the league. At least they can hang out with the lakers now and princess james who got posterized by Jamal Murray.

Every great championship caliber team has go to plays and combinations and can be competitive defensively against multiple types of matchups. All 3 of the Suns stars are too similar to each other. They have the same skillsets, which means when you switch (on a pick n roll for example) you don’t get a meaningful advantage. It’s like having a really decked out fancy food truck but when you arrive they only serve tacos. The three kinds of tacos they serve are all different and taste really good but tacos is the only thing they serve. So the people who want enchiladas and gorditas are screwed and the food truck misses out on that $$ and business. The Suns Big 3 are the tacos. But none of them are particularly strong, or speedy, or quick athletically/or with the handle like a Kyrie. So they all beat their defenders with skill. You need players who can beat you in different ways. Even a prime Russel Westbrook was a better pairing with Durant than the Suns Big 3. Bc Durant beats you with height, shooting and skill but Westbrook beats you with explosiveness and power and speed. So if one thing isn’t working on a given day, you run (a pick n roll for example) and get the switch and you give the defender a different look. Even Kevin Love, Lebron and Kyrie…Lebron is the power and athleticism and passing, Kyrie is the handle blow by you scorer, Kevin is the rebounding and stretch consistent 3 pt shooter….each of the Big 3 were very DIFFERENT and covered each others weaknesses. The Big 3 of the Suns don’t cover each others weaknesses and they don’t multiply each others strengths. It’s just 3 guys who are really good individual talents

This team as constucted will be a play in level team for the next three years. Missing the playoffs or falling to the same fate of a sweep or out in 5. They have to get some kind of return on those three or else from 2027-2030 they will be a lottery team … but not for themselves. They will become the most irrelevant franchise in nba history except for the teams like the brooklyn nets rubbing their hands in anticipation for the next potential mega star.

Man, Vogel loves coaching the most controversial teams in the NBA 🙃 I sometimes feel bad for him, because while he’s not the best coach out there, he’s certainly not the worst either. I see him fitting well on a play in, to 6th seeded team that might not win a title, but win a series, or at least take one to 7 games. He is pretty limited, but I think that’s where we learn to appreciate great coaches like Spo, Pop, Daigneault and Phil Jackson.
