The Indiana Pacers took down the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 of the first-round series between the two teams on Thursday. Called it in the previous post conference when they lost. If you want "pace and space.." Haliburton and the team to play better. Then at some point. If not starting.. Obi needs to be playing with Hali, with either Pascal at the C, or Myles as the C. However one of them needs to sit out. Obi Toppin is underrated and he's exactly the kind of player that Haliburton needs to play with. They're both great for eachothers game's. Pascal and Myles together might be good for them.. But not the rest of the team. You need to put guy's next to Haliburton that helps his strengths.. Obi is thee guy to get them out in transition, he's the biggest hustle player, he makes efforts on D. He will run to close-out a guy about to shoot.. He may not always keep them from scoring.. But he plays with more urgency then anyone else on this team, along with Nesmith's D. Obi did catch Lopez and made the switch to get in front of him. Causing Lopez to miss at the rim. He's by far one of the most valuable player's on this team.. Obi should have gotten the game ball and glory over McConnell. The only reason he didn't, was because McConnell didn't miss but like 2 shots.. But Toppin's play alongside Haliburton is what made this game what it was. Fast and he does everything. 3pt threat, guaranteed bucket. Hali can push the ball up the floor because he has someone to pass to.. Obi can create ways to get to the rim.. and find sneaking cuts that Hali can hit with a lob from the top of 3.. He's the player that they should be investing in.. It upsets me so much that he doesn't get more minutes and not in the starting 5.. Because his game is at it's best when with Hali.. Hali is better when Obi is on the floor.. Helps Nesmith too, because it makes defenses have to always account for where Obi is. Because he can hit the 3, cut backdoor for lobs and beat anyone in transition.. I feel like I have to constantly repeat myself..Because it's as if no one else sees what I see… Frustrating… Even when Obi has had to play with the bench. Even though the bench unit isn't good for his game as much.. He still found a way to make the majority of his shots.. Even though with less minutes and often still always a better stat line than Pascal who gets 42 mins to Obi's 17 or 20.. I think he played about 25 this game.. With Hali most the time and did amazing.. Go figure..
It's like when are people going to stop sleeping on Obi?? He was a huge reason why the Pacers had the #1 Offense. He's became a much better Defender, rebounder and shooter.. He's improved drastically over a short period of time.. Yet people still act like they are surprised and or like Obi isn't someone they could see being the important piece of the game.. smdh… Lol had they traded Brown/Nembhard and Jackson or Smith with more picks than New York was gonna give.. We'd gotten OG and Obi still starting.. We'd been much better and never missed a stride in our Offense.. Could have played Walker. Because we would still be looking to the playoffs, but looking to develop our young guy's. It would have only made us better for the future and gave our long term young guy's more chemistry early.. and I believe would have won more game's. Pascal plays an individual game. He doesn't get other player's going. He's only someone you can pass the ball to in the post.. I swear man.. If they lose Obi because this trade.. I'd be sooo upset.. Obi would be made a priority to me and I'd let him know he's my long term plan for the PF position.. Mathurin comes back next year and add a SF and a SG/SF.. A better replacement for Jackson.. Then we will be much better.. I could only hope they will bring Obi in to play with Hali and Nesmith going forward A LOT MORE.. If not, which wouldn't surprise me.. Because the coaches must like to put the worst group on the floor at all time's more often than not.. idk.. Maybe people will finally understand and what I've been trying to say forever now.. I'm looking for what we will be in a couple year's.. Realistically also.. I hope Pacers management don't forget that and lose out on our young guy's for the future. As they only keep getting better.. Obi obviously keeps taking huge strides.
Good bounce back game from TJ, but Obi got things going for everyone, including McConnell. And Toppin was the most consistent bench player of the Pacers this entire series.

I think Dame coming back was a negative for the Bucks. He took the ball out of Middleton's hands when he spent the previous games cooking us. Plus the defense, like you said.
Next round is going to be really interesting. The Knicks have way fewer scoring threats, but they have a suffocating defense.
Always fun to play the Knicks in the playoffs. Idk that we have anyone who can guard Brunson as well as Batum did but hopefully Pacers can outscore them.
I highly encourage you to take the day off tomorrow, as you pondered on-air: we all should have one day to bask in victory and let the remaining series get more attention—less ears on you means more ears on Locked on Mavs/Clippers/Magic/Cavaliers, right? I feel like Jalen should have a chance to redeem himself in this series. If he can just hit enough shots to force their bigs outside it would really open things up for Toppin and McConnell
I’m expecting us to win about 2 games vs the Knicks so I’m just enjoying the moment now ha.
A few keys to the Pacers success against the Knicks.
1. Picking up Brunson at half court on defense. He should be the starting point for the Pacers defensive scheme.
2. Put a focus on blocking out or they will get killed on the boards.
3. On offense the Pacers cant run down and shoot 3’s early in the clock. They have to use their half court offense and put pressure on the inside.
4. The pacers MUST crash the offensive boards.
I love Topin around rim and on the break. I don't love him shooting 3s. I wish he would take less 3s and focus on getting to the rim. He is incredible around the basket.

Before the first one I said Pacers in six, one a blow out. Also that the stars would be good, not great. That the bench would play more than most coaches would allow. That TJ would be big for us.
The Knicks scare me a little. Series goes seven games. Nembhard vs Brunson will be electric. Can Aaron make him have to shoot too much to keep up his average? Knicks are tough. Hard boiled. We'll have to grow some gold swagger to match their testosterone.
It will turn on rebounding. If we perpetually give them shots until they make it we can't win. If we do win, we run their big slow centers off the floor. I'll take the Pacers, but the win here will be the growth and self reflection our youngsters get out of this series. either way. Should be a great series. Knicks thin bench probably loses it. We should not settle for quick jumpers. Be aggressive and get a Knick starter in early foul trouble and they will suffer.
We have to run the knicks and push the ball like crazy against the Knicks. Use our bench to our advantage. They don't go deep into their bench. I think it gets easier to play the Knicks each game as they slowly get worn out.
